about

Band Together started when two Tennessee musicians wanted to give back to the community that nurtured their creativity.

The idea: Record an album of original music and sell it, with all sales benefitting the music education program in public schools in Overton County, Tennessee.

What resulted was this collection of fully instrumented original songs. We hope you enjoy them enough to consider buying them in support of student musicians and the arts.

Conceived as a double A-side vinyl LP, the album features five songs written and performed by each artist. Banger went to Doug's house and recorded drum tracks for his half of the album. Then he went back one day a week for five weeks to finish layering guitars and vocals on top of the drum tracks. Doug did the same thing for his half of the album over the course of several weeks.

Taken alone, either half of the album could have been released as an EP for the artist who created it. But Doug and Banger have no delusions of being rock stars. They donated their time and talents to this effort solely as a means of raising money for music education.

ALL ALBUM SALES WILL BE DONATED TO OVERTON COUNTY BAND BOOSTERS, THE PRIVATE, NON-PROFIT FUNDRAISING ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO FURNISH INSTRUMENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO MUSIC STUDENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN OVERTON COUNTY, TENNESSEE.

THE ARTISTS AND BAND TOGETHER OC ARE TAKING NO MONEY FOR THESE EFFORTS AND ARE NOT OTHERWISE AFFILIATED WITH THE BAND BOOSTERS, OVERTON COUNTY SCHOOLS, OR OVERTON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.
